Moisturizing and toning, hydrosols are fully adapted to dry and fragile hair. Zoom on the effects of aromatherapy on frizzy hair.
What are hydrosols?
Hydrosol is water obtained by distilling a plant. The distillation is carried out using steam using a still. If the distilled plant is an aromatic plant, an essential oil is also obtained. Essential oil and hydrosol are both part of aromatherapy. However, hydrosol is much less concentrated and therefore much milder than essential oil.
Some examples of hydrosols for frizzy hair
There are many different hydrosols, so every type of hair and scalp can find something that suits them.
For frizzy hair, we particularly note ylang-ylang, which stimulates hair growth, tones the scalp, and brings shine and vigor to dry and brittle hair, as well as witch hazel which is highly prized for its moisturizing properties.
Of course, it is possible to mix hydrosols to create your own synergies.
How to use hydrosols?
Hydrosols can be incorporated into homemade products. These can be shampoos, masks, but also and especially moisturizing lotions.
The moisturizing lotion can be composed of 3/4 hydrosol (instead of mineral water) and 1/4 nourishing active ingredient such as vegetable oil. After pouring the oil into the spray bottle, shake everything so that the hydrosol and oil merge, then spray on the hair and massage the lengths. Repeat the operation throughout the day. Be careful , however, with the conservation of the homemade lotion , be careful not to exceed more than two weeks of use.
After spraying, remember to seal everything to prevent evaporation. The ideal is to apply a butter , oil or nourishing cream.
