Box braids are a must when you have textured hair. Because they are protective hairstyles of course, but also because they are particularly stylish!
Among the braids, we find in particular the vanilla braids. And the least we can say is that the latter have a follow-up in ideas.
In English, “braids” means “braids”. Box braids are protective hairstyles (link to the article "What care after a protective hairstyle?) made from braids with three regular branches all over the head, most of the time on the basis of additions. For their part, vanilla braids are variants of box braids. The "twist", as they are called in English-speaking countries, are made from two strands of hair, and offer endless possibilities of hairstyles. Five have been selected:
1. Box braids with vanilla braids: the half bun locks
It is actually a bun on the half head. We start by grabbing the upper part of the hair, ie the one above the ears, exactly as if we wanted to make a half ponytail. We wrap the hair around an elastic, but we tie it in a bun instead of passing the entire wick.
2. Box braids with vanilla braids: side hair locks
We start by making a parting on the side, then we select locks in line, we make a twist and we hold it with a pin. The operation is repeated on 4 or 5 lines.
3. Box braids with vanilla braids: the high bun
Super easy to do, the high bun clears the face and gives a very elaborate style. For an ultra-trendy look, accessorize the bun by surrounding it with a folded scarf. Another idea: let two vanilla beans fall on the front of the head, one on each side, and decorate them with hair jewelry .
4. Box braids with vanilla braids: the scarf
We select wicks at the front and roll them up to make a kind of banana. Then we take wicks on the side and tie them to hold the banana. We gather the rest of the hair at the back and hold it with pins. We stabilize with a square scarf, tied on the side to bring a retro touch.
5. Box braids with vanilla braids: macaroons
On the basis of a parting on the side, we make two mini-buns like Princess Leia in Star Wars, and we fix everything with pins. In a jiffy, you're done!
